Today the organizations are more concern about ROI every single activity happening in an organization has been connected and converted in to profits or no’s, Employees are an important cost factor towards efficiency.
When looking at how to keep an organization in top form, learning and development can be one of the best ways. The Association for Talent Development, based in the United States, concludes that “organizations are more competitive, agile, and engaged when knowledge is constantly and freely shared.”
In fact, after surveying around 830 companies in 2015, they found that organizations with a culture of learning were some of the highest performers. They also found that they attracted more talented employees and had higher levels of customer satisfaction.
The practice of learning and development should be based on an understanding of  learning theory and the processes involved in learning and development as described in this chapter. These processes are complex and varied. ( Armstrong, M., 2014)

Informal learning

Informal learning is experiential learning. It takes place while people are learning on-the-job
as they go along. Most learning does not take place in formal training programmers’. People can
learn 70 per cent of what they know about their job informally. ( Armstrong, M., 2014)

Merriam et al. (2007) state: "Informal learning, Schugurensky (2000) suggests, has its own internal forms that are important to distinguish in studying the phenomenon. He proposes three forms: self-directed learning, incidental learning, and socialization, or tacit learning. These differ among themselves in terms of intentionality and awareness at the time of the learning experience
